Cut protection: Protection standard EN 381-5.
The EN 381-5 protection standard sets out the requirements for protecting the leg area against dangerous cuts. It regulates which properties cut protection clothing as such must fulfil in order to meet the high safety requirements when operating a chainsaw. Similar to other protective clothing, this must be marked on the surface of the protective clothing with a pictogram featuring a chainsaw and must also be located in a clearly visible place. The exact specifics of cut protective clothing are regulated in the protective standard EN 381-5(Cut protective clothing for users of hand-held chainsaws) and are also highly recommended or even now compulsory for private individuals when working with chainsaws.
