PROTECTION AGAINST COOL ENVIRONMENTS

This European Standard specifies the requirements and test methods for the performance characteristics of garments for protection against the effects of cool environments with temperatures above -5°C. These effects include not only low air temperatures but also humidity and wind speed.

Cold protection clothing systems are excluded from this standard.

These garments are labelled with this pictogram.

The thermal resistance Rct (m2 K/W ) is divided into 4 classes:

  1. 0.06 ≤ Rct < 0.12
  2. 0.12 ≤ Rct < 0.18
  3. 0.18 ≤ Rct < 0.25
  4. 0.25 ≤ Rct
